Crystal + Carrie
Read Their Love Story!
My name is Crystal and my Fiancé is Carrie. We live in Fort Worth,TX
I met Carrie 2 years ago in January. I have always had very
old fashioned ideas when it comes to love. I’ve always said
that the only person I wanted to give myself to was the
person I wanted to spend the rest of my life with. I was 34
and had never really been in love. I had come out about 8
months before I met her and had only dated one other person.
I was getting over a break up and had just gotten tired of
being depressed and sitting at home. I went to one of the
local bars to have a drink and see if any of my friends
wanted to hang out for a while just so I could get out of
the house. One of my friends met me up there and through the
course of the night I got a little carried away in drowning
my sorrows. My friend went to play some pool with a pretty
girl across the bar from us and left me sitting there.
Eventually my friend decided the girl was too young for her
so all of a sudden I hear my friend yelling across the bar
at the top of her lungs for me to come and meet this person.
I was not really in the mood but I went and introduced
myself anyway. She was beautiful and even in my state I
thought to myself I have no chance with a girl like this. We
talked and realized we were both signed up for the same
Meetup group that was going to a comedy club the following
night and since she was new to the group I exchanged numbers
with her so she would be able to find us at the club. Then
we all went to get some food to help sober up. While Carrie
and my friend ate I was in the bathroom paying for my bad
choices. Later that night when my friend and I went home she
said she thought Carrie was interested in me because she
kept asking if I was OK or if she needed to check on me
while they were eating. I told her there was no way someone
like Carrie would be interested in me.
The conversation with my friend stuck with me and the
following night I found myself texting Carrie to see if she
wanted me to meet her early at the comedy club to wait in
line with her and to my surprise she said she would love to.
I met her at the club and we went to stand in line and wait
for the others from the group to show up. We talked and
talked the whole time we were in line. I couldn’t take my
eyes off her and her personality was just as beautiful as
she was. She was kind and generous and I knew I wanted her
to like me. Her smile lit up the room and I just wanted her
to keep smiling at me. All through the show I kept sneaking
peaks at her and hoping she would hang out after the show
was over. She did hang out for a while and I bought her a
drink. Later she asked if I wanted to dance and even though
I have no clue how to dance I said yes. Again I couldn’t
take my eyes off her and if I was horrible she was nice
enough not to mention it. She had another friend’s birthday
party to go to so she eventually had to leave but said she
might catch up with us later that evening. I had a smile
plastered to my face the whole evening. Later that night she
joined up with us at the same bar we had met at the night
before. We danced the whole night together and the more time
I spent with her and talked to her the more I fell for her.
At the end of the night I walked her to her car and we sat
there talking for a while. She told me that she had also
just gotten out of a relationship and was still very unsure
of what she wanted. She said it frightened her how easy it
was to talk to me and easily she felt she could fall for me.
She said half of her brain was telling her to run and the
other half just wanted to kiss me. It was my first real kiss
and it was perfect.
We have been together ever since. We have had to work
through the ups and downs that life and love can throw your
way but we have stuck it out together. This year on our
anniversary I went all out I had her mom take her out to get
her out of the house then I set up the living room with
candles and rose petals everywhere. I had pictures with
different saying about love all over the room and got
dressed up in my best. When she came home I had “Thinking
out loud” by Ed Sheeran playing and I met her at the door
and asked her to dance. She asked me if this was really
happening and I told her yes. We danced and kissed and then
I showed her a funny stick figure video I had made of how we
met and it ended with my proposal. When she turned around I
was on my knee with the ring in hand. I told her I couldn’t
imagine ever loving anyone the way I loved her and I never
thought that someone as amazing as her would ever love me. I
told her I loved how kind hearted she was and that her love
showed in every smile, every touch and every kiss we shared.
I told her I wanted to spend the rest of my life making her
smile, and then I asked her to marry me. I’m Happy to say
she said yes!
Thanks so much for your consideration
Crystal
