I will incorporate any traditions and rituals that you wish to include in your ceremony.  No ceremony is too big or too small.  I can meet you and your fiancé to witness you exchanging "I do's" and signing your marriage license, or officiate your lavish ceremony!

Greetings! I am Jemelle Wooten, THE MODERN OFFICIANT. I became an ordained minister and licensed officiant in 2016. I was drawn to this profession while planning my own wedding. I noticed there was a need for an officiant in Atlanta who is a card-carrying member of the LGBTQ+ community and also specializes in non-traditional weddings. With the encouragement and support of my wife, and my passion for Marriage Equality, I became The Modern Officiant. 

I am also a certified Premarital Counseling Facilitator and Relationship Coach, helping couples prepare for what is to come AFTER the wedding.

I love meeting couples and hearing the story of how they fell in love and decided to spend their lives together.  When the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Marriage Equality, I was overjoyed just thinking about all the couples who could now marry legally.  I want to help make the wedding experience exciting and memorable for couples whose friends and families may not be supportive of their decision to marry the person they love.​​ 

People within the LGBTQ+ community experience so much hate and discrimination in everyday life.  We shouldn’t also experience it with something we fought so hard for – the right to marry who we love.  This is why I am so passionate about Marriage Equality.  Though my specialty is LGBTQ marriages, I am delighted to marry ANY couple in love.  Love is just as strong and meaningful between ALL couples.
